“Happy Birthday Switzerland”.
This month of August with another installation of Swiss music being broadcasted for Echobox Radio. Normally I have a a more specific theme or guest in mind but this month we will take things easier without compromising on quality. It’s a bit of a vacation season for some people, whereas myself am presenting this show from my return from a month spent in Switzerland. August actually happens to be the month of Switzerland’s birthday, the 1st being its day of independence. Traditionally on that day, I like to to take a hike in the nearby mountains so today’s shows revolves around that. This mix contains some of my favourite Helvetian ambient or rather left field pieces that could serve as an imaginary premise to soundtrack these walks. Some of it is unreleased Dee Dee’s Picks, the rest are some of my favourite music I’ve acquired throughout the years, from strangers and friends that I’ve acquainted with through this journey of discovery.
Dark and serene. Cathartic and thoughtful. Contradicting of some, strengthening of others.
